Suburban trains to be partially cancelled between Chennai and Gummidipoondi

Southern Railway will either cancel or partially cancel some suburban train services between Chennai and Gummidipoondi on January 21, 23, 25, 28 and 30, February 2,4,6,9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25 and 27, and March 1, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12. The changes are made to facilitate repair works on the on the Chennai Central – Gudur section.

The following suburban trains will be partially cancelled.

Chennai Beach – Gummidipoondi EMU local (Train No 42601), scheduled to leave Chennai Beach at 9.40am, will be partially cancelled between Ennore and Gummidipoondi. It will be turned back from Ennore to Moore Market Complex (MMC) railway station as a passenger special.

MMC – Gummidipoondi EMU local (Train No 42015), scheduled to leave MMC at 10.25am, will be partially cancelled between Ennore and Gummidipoondi. It will be turned back from Ennore to MMC as a passenger special.

MMC – Gummidipoondi EMU local (Train No 42017), scheduled to leave MMC at 11.35am, will be partially cancelled between Ennore and Gummidipoondi. It will be turned back from Ennore to MMC as a passenger special.

MMC – Gummidipoondi EMU local (Train No 42019), scheduled to leave MMC at 12.10pm, will be partially cancelled between Ennore and Gummidipoondi. It will be turned back from Ennore to MMC as a passenger special.

MMC – Sulurpeta EMU local (Train No 42413), scheduled to leave MMC at 12.40pm, will be partially cancelled between Ennore and Sulurpeta. It will be turned back from Ennore to MMC as a passenger special.

MMC – Gummidipoondi EMU local (Train No 42021), scheduled to leave MMC at 1.15pm, will be partially cancelled between Ennore and Gummidipoondi. It will be turned back from Ennore to MMC as a passenger special.

Sulurpeta – MMC EMU local (Train No 42406), scheduled to leave Sulurpeta at 10am, will be partially cancelled between Minjur and MMC. It will be turned back from Minjur to Sulurpeta as a passenger special.

Gummidipoondi – MMC EMU local (Train No 42020), scheduled to leave Gummidipoondi at 10.50am, will be partially cancelled between Minjur and MMC. It will be turned back from Minjur to Gummidipoondi as a passenger special.

Gummidipoondi – MMC EMU local (Train No 42022), scheduled to leave Gummidipoondi at 11.20am, will be partially cancelled between Minjur and MMC. It will be turned back from Minjur to Gummidipoondi as a passenger special.

Sulurpeta – MMC EMU local (Train No 42408), scheduled to leave Sulurpeta at 11.10am, will be partially cancelled between Minjur and MMC. It will be turned back from Minjur to Gummidipoondi as passenger special.

Gummidipoondi – MMC EMU local (Train No 42024), scheduled to leave Gummidipundi at 1PM, will be partially cancelled between Minjur and MMC. It will be turned back from Minjur to Sulurpeta as passenger a special.

 Gummidipoondi – MMC EMU local (Train No 42026), scheduled to leave Gummidipoondi at 1.35PM will be partially cancelled between Minjur and MMC. It will be turned back from Minjur to Gummidipoondi as a passenger special.

Sulurpeta – MMC EMU local (Train No 66026), scheduled to leave Sulurpeta at 12.00pm, will be partially cancelled between Ponneri and MMC. It will be turned back from Ponneri to Sulurpeta as a passenger special.

The following suburban train will be fully cancelled.

Gummidipoondi – MMC EMU local (Train No 42030), scheduled to leave Gummidipoondi at 3.15pm will be fully cancelled.

Chennai Metro rail extends train timings during Pongal season

The Chennai Metro Rail has extended its operational time during Pongal festival.

 The Chennai Metro Rail will operate services till 11 p.m. during Pongal. The extension of the timings was to help passengers heading to Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus board buses for the Pongal holidays.

On Wednesday and Thursday, January 13 and 14, train services would be extended till 11 p.m. The last train from Koyambedu will leave at 10:45 p.m. and Alandur at 11:05 p.m.

On Friday and Saturday, January 15 and 16, normal schedule will be maintained. On Sunday, January 17, the first service from Alandur and Koyambedu will start at 8 a.m. and will run till 11 p.m.

Extra services will be operated based on passenger flow.

Changes in pattern of Chennai Suburban Trains Services

Due to line block/power block to facilitate engineering works in Chennai Beach – Tambaram section, the certain changes will be made in the pattern of suburban train services on Saturdays and Sundays from 07.03.2015 to 10.05.2015.

Local residents and others who will be travelling to Chennai during the above mentioned time period are advised to go through this notification.
