Special Traffic Block between Palasdari and Khopoli

Central Railway will operate special traffic and power block for 7 hours from 9:40 am to 4:40 pm on 17 Sep between Palasdari and Khopoli for cut and connect at Khopoli in connection with the commissioning of platform no. 1. The details are as under:

Cancellation of 8 Suburban services:
1. Khopoli Locals leaving Karjat at 10:55 am, 12:05 pm, 1:15 pm and 3:27 pm (4 services)
2. Karjat locals leaving Khopoli at 10:20 am, 11:30 am, 12:40 pm and 2:50 pm (4 services)

Partial cancellation of 4 Suburban services:
1. Khopoli locals leaving CST at 7:53 am and 12:22 pm will be short terminated at Karjat (Cancelled between Karjat & Khopoli)
2. CST locals Khopoli at 1:50 pm and 4:28 pm will run Ex Karjat. (Cancelled between Khopoli and Karjat)

Dombivali most crowded station on Central Railway, reveals RTI query

According to figures furnished via RTI, a total of 8,97,019 tickets are sold at all these 85 stations and 38.56 lakh passengers travel on CR daily generating a fare collection of Rs 2.19 crore.


Dombivali has beaten CST, Thane and Kalyan railway station to become the most crowded and fare generating suburban station in the Mumbai division on Central Railway (CR), an RTI query has revealed in Mumbai.

The reply to a query filed by activist Anil Galgali said that a total of 2,33,635 passengers travel through this suburban station on a daily basis and Rs 14,94,538 is collected via fares from there everyday. Whereas Thane stands on the second spot where 2,25,490 passengers use this station everyday while fetching Rs 13,84,020 as fares.

Figures on suburban daily average in terms of ticket selling, numbers of passengers and fare receivables of all 85 suburban stations of Mumbai division on CR also say that Thane remains at the top position in terms of ticket selling (60,895) on daily basis, while Kurla station was at the second spot from where 55,552 tickets are sold daily on an average. This was followed by Ghatkopar (42,977) primarily due to the commencement of Metro Rail from this station.

According to figures furnished via RTI, a total of 8,97,019 tickets are sold at all these 85 stations and 38.56 lakh passengers travel on CR daily generating a fare collection of Rs 2.19 crore. CR has 121 rakes to serve passengers by 1618 train services on daily basis.

MUMBAI MARATHON 2016 – EARLY MORNING SUBURBAN SPECIAL TRAINS
ON 17.01.2016 (SUNDAY)
Central Railway has decided to run 2 suburban special trains o­ne each from Kalyan and Panvel Station o­n Sunday 17.01.2016 for the benefit of the participants of Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon being held at CST, Mumbai o­n 17.01.2016.
The details are as under-
Kalyan – CST special will leave Kalyan at 03.00 hrs and will arrive Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai at 04.30 hrs stopping at all stations.
Panvel – CST special will leave Panvel at 03.10 hrs and will arrive Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 04.30 hrs via Harbour line stopping at all stations.
However, local trains towards Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus leaving Kalyan at 04.41 and leaving Vashi at 04.00 will remain cancelled.
All concerned to please take note of this and avail the facility.
